The Strawberry Mountain Wilderness area in Grant County boasts miles of pristine trails with elevation ranging from 4,000 feet to over 9,038 feet. In addition to all of these exciting activities, enjoy fishing, swimming and relaxing at the John Day River and Magone Lake. Just minutes from La Grande in the Mount Emily Recreation Area, there are 3,700 acres of opportunities for mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding. Harney County has the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, a wetland reserve with camping and picnic areas. Baker County offers endless recreation opportunities in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest which includes Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort.
