North Powder

Straddling the historic Oregon Trail, North Powder has a long history of serving travelers. ... The tiny town is surrounded by opportunities for hiking, camping, fishing, wildlife viewing and touring on the Grande Tour Scenic Bikeway. The nearby Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort is a popular destination for skiers and outdoor enthusiasts year-round.

Historically, North Powder prospered with the arrival of the railroad, the creation of a lumber company and the success of an icehouse that supplied refrigerator cars.
